Here it goes, for better or worse. The impulse strikes and I’ve set up a blog. Whatever for? I’m a writer, first of all, and I suspect that I might have a few things to say about stuff for which I have interest and experience: teaching, writing, reading, playing music, listening to music, and being a dad. That’s a wide range of stuff, I know, and I suspect that a successful blog may need a tighter focus. What can I say? I see this as an experiment, a flirtation, a trial run, and not as a commitment. There’s something appealing to me about this idea, that’s all. I hope it might be instructive or entertaining for others. Who knows? At any rate, welcome to Michael Jarmer’s inaugural blog.
Hello Michael. I started a blog a year or so ago and then let it languish, but I’m thinking about getting back to it, especially now that I’ve heard blogs are passe and tweating is the way of the present. Love to you and sorry I missed you (among the thousands) at AWP
Hey Faith! You did not miss me among the thousands at AWP. I was not there. But, generally speaking, I miss you and hope to come to Warren Wilson this summer but I’m not sure that’s in the cards. Thanks for visiting and good luck with whatever it is you do. A friend of mine sent me a NY Times article about blogs becoming passé–but for younger folks who’d rather tweet or twit or whatever it is they do. I was heartened by that, not discouraged. Blog on.
