#507: Stump to Grind (a partially found poem)

“Hello friends and neighbors
I’ll be in town stump grinding all day
if you have any stumps
you need taken care of

feel free to reach out.”

I’m reaching out.
I’ve got a stump to grind.
Please come by at your
earliest convenience
to grind this stump.
I’ve tried with all manner
of utensils to remove it
myself, but it’s just
too stumpy.
It’s deep in there
and dense
and it does not
want loosen its grip
on the earth.
I’ve tried with all manner
of soothing and/or coarse
language to soften it up,
but it’s just too stumpy.
Please come by at your
earliest convenience
to grind this stump.
I’ve got a stump to grind.
I’m reaching out.
