Two days into National Poetry Writing Month and so far I’ve met my goal of writing two poems every day, one of which must be a sonnet. I don’t know if this is sustainable. Only time will tell. . .

is the rallying call from creatives
who are called “creatives” now, by the way,
a label lumping together anyone who
does anything remotely “artistic,”
painters, designers, writers, musicians,
and people doing dumb things on TikTok
which might be banned, as if China gave a shit.
I plead guilty as charged to most of it.
There is some stupid high, the performer
in me cannot resist making public
the poem I just wrote, or some random thought.
